The Calistar sorting machine is Aweta's latest development, designed for high volume jobs such as pre-sorting. The design of this machine is unique in the sense that all the components involved, namely the electronics, drive, transport devices, chains, etc., are located above the product. This means that there is free access to the bottom of the machine, making it easy to install and remove packing materials and clean machine parts and mechanisms. The product rotates on a singulator (selector) to determine color, size and quality. The product is then very carefully picked up and transported from the machine to the side conveyors. After that, the product is fed to the weighing device, where its weight is recorded with an accuracy of 2 grams.

Aweta grippers
Each individual fruit or vegetable is carefully picked and transported to the weighing section, where the weight of the product is measured to the nearest 2 grams. With a throughput of 8 picks per second per line and a variety of models ranging from four to ten lines of each type, the Calistar sorter can handle any speed you need. The design of the gripper system used makes it impossible for two fruits or vegetables to be picked up at the same time and pass through the sorting device together.
Delicate handling

The Calistar gripper is by far the thinnest and neatest apple carrier. This system was copied from us, to some extent, by a competitor. However, our system is still unique as there is no transition from singulator to grader. The product falls straight into the water channel.
The fetus is carefully picked up by the gripper and transported, where it is subsequently dropped through the brush into the water. We are proud to say that for delicate Golden Delicious apples, the Calistar grading machine is the one of choice.
SORTING MACHINE CALISTAR
After the color of the product, its weight or diameter is determined, the computer automatically activates the switching system located above the brush conveyor, causing the gripper to lower the product down; however, different lowering parameters are provided for different lines.

This prevents food from falling on top of each other. The brush conveyor conveys the products to the collection conveyor, to the box filler (DBF) or to a chute filled with water. After emptying, the gripper continues to move towards the end block of the sorter and returns along the upper guide to the starting point of the cycle. The process ends with the activation of the Awesort system developed by Aweta.
